Iron Ore Concentrate
Iron ore concentrate is a refined product derived from the beneficiation of magnetite iron ore, typically containing over 65% iron. It is primarily used in the production of pellets for sintering and blast furnaces in iron and steel making, enhancing the efficiency of the smelting process.
Iron concentrate is produced by purifying crushed iron ore through either dry or wet methods, utilizing different crafting stations that vary in ratios, labor costs, and processing time. This enriched product meets the requirements for further metallurgical processing and is supplied as a semi-finished product for blast-furnace pellets, metallization pellets, and iron-containing briquettes.
Innovative technologies for injecting iron ore concentrate into furnaces, either with pulverized coal or independent Iron ore is the source of primary iron for the world's iron and steel industries. It is therefore essential for the production of steel, which in turn is essential to maintain a strong industrial base. Almost all (98%) iron ore is used in steelmaking, represent a promising development in blast furnace production, potentially replacing sintered iron ore raw materials (IORMs). The concentrate is non-toxic, non-flammable, and non-explosive, and is typically shipped in bulk by rail or sea.
Iron Ore Concentrate applications
Iron ore is the primary source of iron for the world's iron and steel industries, making it essential for steel production and a strong industrial base. Most iron ore require beneficiation to concentrate the valuable mineral, removing impurities (gangue). This process produces iron ore concentrate, which is non-toxic, non-flammable, and non-explosive. The concentrate is used to create pellets for blast furnaces and sinter, making it a crucial component in steel manufacturing.
